Result: Rock Springs Field Trial Club

Rock Springs Field Trial Club held their first NBHA trial on the grounds near, Eskridge, Kan. These grounds have not been used much the last couple of years, so it was good to get back on them. The terrain is made up of draws, plumb thickets, sumac, rolling prairie and plenty of water from natural springs and ponds throughout the courses. These grounds are supreme for walking trials and is very much equal in terms of continuity for all participants. Although no wild birds were pointed in this trial there are some on the grounds but eluded us for the weekend. There were plenty of liberated birds for all the dogs.

Rock Springs would like to thank our landowners as for not having them we would not be able to run on the private grounds that they have shared with us going on 16 yrs. Open Shooting Dog placements- First Unfinished Business (Ace) pointer male, owned by John Gaines, handled by Justin Crook. Nice race with 3 finds and a big finish at time. Second Fast Money (Molly) pointer male, owned by C. W. and Patty Moore, handled by Justin Crook- 3 finds and a nice race. Third Bye Bye G G (GG) pointer female, owned and handled by Robert Lais- Moderate race with 2 finds.

Open Derby - First Huber's Artemis Sunshine (Artie) Brittany female, owned and handled by Tavis Patterson. This little girl is full of life as she goes easily with here handler and is a joy to watch. She garnered 1s t in Derby and in the puppy second Clearcut Uptown Holly (Holly) Gordon Setter female owner Kent Tomlinson and Jane Shillie/handler Kent Tomlinson. Holly ran a nice race for her handler moving easily on the ground. Third Dexter Reddog Taylor (Dexter) Irish Setter male owner and handler Brad Taylor. Dexter was to the front and went easily with his owner.

Open Puppy - First Huber's Artemis Sunshine (Artie) Brittany female owner and handler Travis Patterson. Artie had a nice forward race going to front throughout her brace. Second Long Bigtime Mark (Mark) pointer male, owned by John Gaines, handled by Kaulin Ogle. Mark didn't have the biggest race but stayed to the front and went with his handler. Kaulin is a nice young man that is getting to run his dog and we all hope he continues as this sport needs all the youth handlers we can get.
