The Region 13 Amateur Shooting Dog Championship ran at the Ionia Field Trial Grounds. We had a great entry for the championship this year; a lot of guys came from out of town, which was great. I need to thank everyone who helped me with putting on the trial, especially the judges Ron Sposita and Charlie Fenech, who gave their undivided attention to each brace. Need to thank Ron Williams for driving the dog wagon, Dick Lipski for seeding the courses every morning and every brace during the trial, and the guys who rode braces and marshaled braces. Thank you all.

The winner, Calico's Over The Top, handled by Alex Smith, ran in the seventh brace and ran a fantastic forward race with multiple bird work.

The runner-up, Alliwood's Shady Street, handled by Adam Delude, ran in the first brace and had a very nice, easy-running forward race with great bird work. Congratulations to both winner and runner-up.

Also need to thank Purina for their generous support of our Region 13 Championship; it is always greatly appreciated.
