Open All-Age (l-r): Korry Reinhart with Lester's War Bird, Luke Eisenhart with Erin's Perfect Storm, and Tommy Rice with Panther Creek Rosie.
The Lee County Field Trial Club hosted its 15th Annual field trial. The Open All-Age stake started Saturday, December 13, 2025, with one of the largest entries we've had in a long time.
The winner, Lester's War Bird, handled by Gary Lester and scouted by Korry Rinehart, came out of the first brace after lunch, with four well-placed finds. The second-place dog, Erin's Perfect Storm, handled by Luke Eisenhart, ran in the second brace on Sunday morning and tallied two finds with a strong forward race. Coming in third place, Panther Creek Rosie, handled by Tommy Rice, ran in the last brace of the stake and tallied multiple finds with a smooth, forward race.
The Open Derby started immediately following the Open All-Age, with DS Superfly taking the top spot for Mark McLean, while Erin's Dreamcatcher tallied the second-place spot for Judd Carlton. The third-place spot went to DS Riptide, also handled by Mark McLean. The Derby was run on a continuous course with all winners having bird contact.
Greg Bain of Town Creek, Alabama, and Joe Hughes of Moulton, Alabama, served as judges, and it was a pleasure to have them.
The Amateur All-Age began Thursday at noon with 21 competing dogs.
The second brace on Friday morning produced the first-place dog, Showtime Houston Solution, handled by Larron Copeland. He had a strong forward race with four perfect finds and a strong finish.
The second-place dog, also coming out of the second brace, was Notorious Dominator's Reserve, handled by John Mathys with multiple finds and a smooth, forward ace.
The seventh brace produced the third-place dog, Notorious Southern Son, handled by John Mathys. Son had immaculate bird work and a smooth, forward race.
The judges for the Amateur All-Age were Jeff Gibbons of Deatsville, Alabama, and Tracy Swearingen of Leesburg, Georgia.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Purina for sponsoring the trial. We also owe thanks to Steve and Marilyn Wiley for sponsoring breakfast every morning, along with Nutrien Ag, Ivey's Outdoors, GIII Ag, Flint Equipment, Gary Lester, Larron and Laura Copeland, Insurance Market, and Tri-Co AG for sponsoring lunches.
