Mason-Dixon German Shorthaired Pointer Club

Bad Bourbon, First in the Open All-Age Stake; Third in the Open Shooting Dog Stake; First in the Amateur Restricted Shooting Dog Stake.

The weather was nice over the weekend, even though we had some wind on Friday and Sunday, and a freeze Saturday morning. But we have put another event in the books.

We ended up with 71 entries and had to cancel the Open Puppy due one of the four coming into season, so we ran 67 dogs.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We had dinner in the clubhouse Saturday night. Many thanks to all who supported the kitchen. This helps with the expenses of the trial.

Congratulation to Barry Bollinger, winner of the 50/50. We had many donations to raffle off as well. The proceeds went to the York Pointer and Setter Club.

Special thank you to the following people for the work they performed at the event (hopefully I did not miss anyone):

Don Eck and Steve Boyer took care of bird planting, great job. Thank you Steve for the use of your ATV. Gunners John Naughton, Dick Cullerton and Don Eck.

Dick Cullerton handled the line marshal duty. Stephanie Snyder, Pat Hudson for the snack dessert donations. Muffy Cullerton for her helping the kitchen.

Can't thank the judges enough for the long hours in the saddle -- Lance Fargo, Howard Shultz, Jeff Currier, Troy Hoverter, Tom McKellar, Doug Welsh and Ken Huyser.

Thank you to David for bringing the horses to use on Saturday and Sunday. Always having the horses ready for the judges, handlers and gallery so we had no delays.

The following revolving trophies were awarded for the 2021 fall event.

Paul A. Snyder Memorial Trophy winner of the Amateur Restricted Shooting Dog, Bad Bourbon, "Big," owned and handled by Gunner Boyer.

Alfred J. Sause Memorial Trophy winner of the Amateur Shooting Dog, Dark Knight's Moon Kricket, "Kricket," owned by Jon Sensinger, handled by Jeff Currier.

Joseph "Doc" Brown Challenge Trophy winner of the Open Shooting Dog, Gun Runner Carli, owned by Daren and Steve Boyer, handled by Daren Boyer.

Thank you to all who entered and supported us again and all the new people. Thank you for having all the dogs on the line and ready to keep the trial running smoothly.

Congratulations to all the winners. See you in the spring.
