The Region 2 Amateur All-Age Championship was held at Greenwood Forest WMA in Lacey Township, New Jersey, and started on March 30, 2025, after being postponed from the fall of 2024. Nineteen dogs were entered in the stake by handlers from all over Region 2. The weather was warm, and the conditions were tough as part of the course was burnt. There were no shortages in bird work, and every dog had plenty of opportunities.

We want to thank everyone for their hard work, both before the trial began and during the trial. A few that come to mind are Joe Cincotta, Joe Lordi, and Chris Catanzarite. We would like to thank the judges, Pete DelCollo of Virginia and Roger Dvorak of Maryland. Roger Dvorak stepped in on short notice after Kevin Joyce was unable to ride due to a previous injury.

Topping the field was Backcountry Bruiser, owned and handled by Chris Catanzarite. His race was consistent from start to finish, showing in every field. Bruiser scored six finds and one divided find throughout the hour. Bruiser's manners on his game were perfect. Chris and his dog have a great rapport, and it showed while running.

Coming in as runner-up was Mohawk Mill Gangster, owned and handled by Ed McCay. Gangster also tallied seven finds with a nice forward race. Ed was able to sit back and let the dog do the work. Gangster's manners were very good around his game.

The weekend went off without a hitch thanks to all who attended and pitched in. No trial could run without the people who support it. Congratulations to all the winners.
