The Michigan Open Shooting Dog Championship Club will host the Michigan Open Derby Classic on Tuesday, April 18, at the Ionia grounds, following the Region 13 Amateur All-Age Championship hosted by the Farmer Sportsmen's Field Trial Club. We will also host a 45-minute Open Shooting Dog Classic following the Derby Classic.

The club members have decided to take a break this year in hosting the Open Shooting Dog Championship, a Purina Top Shooting Dog and Handler of the Year Award Points trial, due to the lack of participation in the recent past. We will continue to work with Purina as a major sponsor to ensure that this trial and those in the years to come will be executed to the highest standards we have established over the event's long history. Additionally, we will be hosting the Region 13 Amateur Shooting Dog Championship at the conclusion of the Open Classics.
