Field Trial Hall of Fame
Nomination Voting Scheduled for Late June

Balloting for deserving candidates for the Field Trial Hall of Fame will be held in a matter of weeks. As in the past, the voting encompasses two categories — deserving Dogs and worthy Persons.

Ahead of the balloting, there is a customary span of time — about six weeks — wherein readers can put forward the names of nominees they deem deserving of this singular honor — election to the Field Trial Hall of Fame.

For the Dogs, it is required that they be deceased. They should be evaluated on two criteria: their record and production of winning offspring. It happens on occasion that a canine candidate excels in but one of these areas; however, that is rare. Both facets (performance and production) should be kept in mind when considering prospective nominees.

As far as deserving Persons, “contributions” to the sport is the key yardstick. This can assume several aspects — as a judge, a club official, correspondent, patron, landowner — and usually will be a combination of these.

Nominees may be living or dead. Living candidates shall have reached their 64th birthday.

Official nomination ballots will appear in two issues in late June.
